Kangana Ranaut’s film Thalaivii has embroiled in controversies since its release. Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa party AIADMK has objected to this film based on Jayalalithaa’s life. The party’s claim that some scenes are like this in the film are factually incorrect.
AIADMK Party leader and former minister D Jayakumar spoke to the media after watching the film. He said, this film is made very well. If some scenes are deleted, then it can prove to be a big hit.
Thalaivi is based on the life of J Jayalalithaa and her mentor MGR. The film shows how after a successful film career, Jayalalithaa starts her political journey and becomes the Chief Minister of the state.
According to D Jayakumar, it is shown in the film that MGR has sought a ministerial berth in the first DMK government. While this did not happen. MGR never asked for the post, he just wanted to remain as an MLA.
