Akshay Kumar on Thursday expressed his disappointment after actor Richa Chaada mocked the Indian Army by referring to Galwan. Where 20 soldiers were killed in a violent clash during a border stand-off with the Chinese PLA in 2020.
Sharing a post, actor Richa Chadha posted, “Galwan says hi.” Many on Twitter reacted by calling her post “shameful and disgraceful”.
Commenting on this statement, Lt General Upendra Dwivedi said the military is always ready to execute the orders of the government. “As far as the Indian Army is concerned, it will carry out any order given by the Government of India. Whenever such orders are given, we will always be ready for it,” he said.
Chada’s controversial tweet came after a Twitter user shared a quote from a top Army General who said the Indian Army was fully prepared to take back PoK (Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir).
Akshay Kumar said that he was hurt to see the tweet and that nothing ever should make the people ungrateful towards the country’s armed forces.
“Hurts to see this. Nothing ever should make us ungrateful toward our armed forces. Woh hain toh aaj hum hain,” he said.

Twenty soldiers gave their lives for India in the clash with Chinese troops in Galwan Valley. Some 40 Chinese soldiers were killed or wounded, according to reports.
In her apology post, Ms. Chadha said her grandfather, a “Lieutenant Colonel”, took a bullet in the leg in the Indo-China war. “My Mamaji was a paratrooper. It’s in my blood. A whole family is affected when a son is martyred or even injured while saving the nation which is made up of people like us and I personally know how it feels. It is an emotive issue for me,” she said.

“Even though it can never be my intention in the least, if the 3 words which are being dragged into a controversy have offended or hurt anyone, I apologize and also say that it would sadden me if even unintentionally my words have triggered this feeling in my brothers in the fauj (army) of which my own Nanaji has been an illustrious part,” Ms said in her apology tweet.
