After the end of the current Test series against New Zealand, Team India has to leave for South Africa. According to the old schedule, 3 Tests, 3 ODIs and 4 T20 International matches were to played during this tour in about 7 weeks. But now the schedule has cut.

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah told news agency ANI, ‘The Indian cricket team will go on a tour of South Africa where they will play a series of 3 Tests and 3 ODIs, while T20 International. The series will played later.
Team India : Indian players will go through quarantine
The BCCI did not want to cancel Team India’s South African tour from the beginning. Although the program had to shortened due to the Omicron variant. It is very possible that Indian players may have to go through a strict quarantine in terms of security.
