Deepika Padukone to Present at the Oscars 2023.

Indian actress Deepika Padukone made history in December 2022 when she became the first Indian to unveil the FIFA World Cup trophy. Now, just over two months later, she is set to make India proud again as one of the presenters at the upcoming 95th Academy Awards.

Third Indian Presenter at the Oscars

Deepika Padukone will be the third Indian to present at the Oscars. Persis Khambatta was the first Indian to serve as a presenter in 1980, and Priyanka Chopra followed suit in 2016.

Achievements and Acknowledgment

Last year, Padukone served on the jury at the Cannes Film Festival and walked the Cannes carpet each year since 2016. Padukone expressed her humility and appreciation for the recognition she has received thus far in her career, acknowledging that she may not have given herself enough credit for her accomplishments.

Indian Nominees for Oscar

Indian films and documentaries have also received nominations at this year’s Oscars. All That Breathes by Shaunak Sen has been nominated for Best Documentary, while Kartiki Gonsalves’s The Elephant Whisperers is in the running for Best Documentary Short Film. Additionally, the song Nattu Nattu from SS Rajamouli’s RRR has been nominated, and will also be performed on stage by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava.

Event Details

The 95th Oscars will take place on March 12th, 2023, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Padukone will join other presenters such as Dwayne Johnson, Emily Blunt, Samuel L Jackson, and Michael B Jordan on stage to present awards to this year’s winners.
