Durga idol immersion will not be allowed in any public place in Delhi. People will now have to immerse the idol in a bucket or container in their homes. The Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) has issued an order regarding this. DPCC has said that on the occasion of Durga Puja, this time neither the immersion of idols of Goddess Durga in Yamuna river will be allowed in Delhi nor will it be allowed in any pond, ghat or any other public place.
In the order issued, it has been advised to remove the worship material like flowers, decoration items etc. before the idol immersion. In this, all the goods have been asked to be given to the people who collect the waste. So that the environment is safe. This order will be applicable from the big idol to be installed in the Durga Puja pandal to the small idol kept in the houses of the common people.
