Tokyo Olympics : Mirabai Chanu , who won the first medal for India in the Tokyo Olympics, is being rewarded. The Railway Minister has announced a grant of Rs 2 crore to them.
Rewards rain on Mirabai Chanu
Mirabai Chanu created history in the Tokyo Olympics. 26-year-old Chanu won silver in the 49 kg category of weightlifting. Mirabai, who proudly widened the chest of the country, was give a grand welcome on her return home and now it is raining prizes on her.
Mirabai Chanu got a reward of 2 crores
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav met Indian Railways weightlifter Mirabai and announced a cash reward of Rs 2 crore to her. In a tweet, Ministry of Railways said, Hon’ble Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnav felicitated Olympic Silver Medalist and Indian Railways Weightlifter, Ms. Mirabai. Announced a cash prize of Rs 2 crore and promotion for his outstanding performance in the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
SP will be in Manipur Police
Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Monday announce that Tokyo Olympics silver medalist Mirabai Chanu willappointed as additional superintendent of police in the state police department. The Chief Minister said that the state government would also give him a reward of one crore rupees. Singh said the Olympian, who won a silver medal in the 49 kg category, would now have the post of Additional Superintendent of Police (Sports).
Mirabai will get free pizza for life
Restaurant chain Domino’s has offered free pizza for life to Olympic silver medalist Saikhom Mirabai Chanu. In fact, after winning the medal, Mirabai said that she wants to eat pizza. Domino’s had earlier sent pizzas to Mirabai’s family members after winning the medal.
Domino’s tweeted saying,
‘You said and we listened, we never want Mirabai Chanu to wait to eat again so we are giving her free Domino’s Pizza for life’.
