New Delhi: The Supreme Court asked to see a “national plan” on oxygen supply, essential medicines, and method of vaccination and issued a
day-long notice to the Center that recorded the world’s largest jump in India covid cases – 3.14 Lakh cases and more than 2,104 deaths in one day.
“We want to see a national plan on this issue,” Chief Justice of India SA Bobde said. The hearing will be held tomorrow.
The Supreme Court stepped into the case when six high courts across the country hear a petition on the oxygen-related crisis, beds, and hospitals of the viral defense drug Remedisvir.
“We want to know. The four issues of oxygen supply, the supply of essential medicines, the method and method of vaccination,
and we want to have the power to declare the lockout with the states,” said the Chief Justice.
“We want to take cognizance of some of the issues found in the six high courts – Delhi, Bombay, Sikkim, Madhya Pradesh,
Calcutta, and Allahabad. Now they are using their jurisdiction in their best interests. But whatever is happening is confusion. A diversion of resources. ”
In a separate hearing on Vedanta’s plea to open its closed copper plant in Tamil Nadu for oxygen production, Supreme Court Chief Justice Bobde remarked that
“the present situation is like a national emergency.” For three days, the Delhi High Court has heard emergency requests for oxygen and other
resources from the city government and various hospitals in the city.
Two emergency hearings at the Delhi High Court ended late last night when an oxygen tanker departed for a hospital in the city’s largest hospital chain,
Max Group, which had pleaded with the court for help as it could provide almost oxygen for its covid patients. Was out of.

The High Court expressed “shock and despair” over the government tackling the oxygen crisis and directed the Center to
“beg, borrow, steal” but ensure adequate oxygen supply for hospitals.
The court said, “Citizens can only fall back on the state. It is the responsibility of the government. Beg … borrow … or steal, it’s your job.”
“How is the government so oblivious to the reality on the ground? You can’t die people without oxygen. You take your sweet time, and people die.”
In a growing health crisis for the country, with a flurry of resources and infrastructure, the states have colluded with the
Center or other states regarding the supply of oxygen, vaccines, and medicines.
On Thursday, India reported 3,14,835 new infections, the world’s highest daily tally and 2,104 deaths in 24 hours.
