PM Narendra Modi held a two-hour review meeting with officials on Saturday amid the threat of the new Omicron variant of Corona. In this meeting, he has given instructions to review again the relaxations being give in international travel restrictions. Apart from this, expressing concern about the new variant, he has asked to closely monitor the passengers coming from outside. During the meeting, the PM said that more attention should paid to passengers coming from countries where there is a high risk of new variants.
PM Modi said – Officers should work with the state governments.
Prime Minister Modi has instructed the central officials to work closely with the state government. Along with this, he has also issued instructions to ensure awareness from the state to the district level for the identification of new variants. He said that intensive monitoring and investigation of corona infection should continue.

Many countries have again banned air flights to their respective countries amid the new variant of Corona found in South Africa. Meanwhile, an alert has also issued in India and instructions have given to conduct thorough testing of passengers coming from the South African country to avoid the danger of the new variant.
