The progress of India is contain in the coordination of mother tongue and official language. Language is the most powerful medium to express emotion. Hindi is the basic foundation of our cultural consciousness and national unity as well as a bridge between ancient civilization and modern progress.

Hindi was give the status of official language on 14 September 1949, hence this day is celebrate as Hindi Diwas. The Constituent Assembly had accepted English as the official language along with Hindi in Devanagari script. But on 14 September 1949, the Constituent Assembly declared Hindi as the official language of India. However, the first Hindi Day was celebrate on 14 September 1953.
There should be harmony between the official language and mother tongue.
Home Minister Amit Shah said in a program organize on Hindi Diwas that harmony has to established between mother tongue and official language in India. He said that I appeal to the countrymen to take a pledge to use Hindi language in government work as well as in their personal work.
