RCB Captain : Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has announced their captain for the 2022 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The franchise announced its captain in an event called RCB Unbox held in Bangalore. RCB has handed over the command of the team to former South African team captain Faf du Plessis, who will be the captain of RCB in the 15th season of IPL. Faf du Plessis has never captained any team in the IPL before and was bought by RCB in an auction this year for Rs 7 crore.
Faf du Plessis will be the seventh captain.
Royal Challengers Bangalore ie RCB has got the support of 6 captains so far, which includes three Indian and three foreign players. The captaincy of RCB was take over by Rahul Dravid in the year 2008, but the next year the captain of the team was Kevin Pietersen. In the same year, Anil Kumble captained the team, while Daniel Vettori was also the captain of the team for a long time. At the same time, Virat Kohli took over the captaincy of the team in 2013. Meanwhile in 2017 Shane Watson was the captain of the team for three matches. In this way, RCB has tried 6 captains so far and Faf du Plessis will be the seventh captain of the team.

This will be the 15th season of IPL for RCB, but so far the team has not won a single title. Now it remains to seen whether the South African legend will able to get RCB their first title or not. RCB has played IPL final thrice so far, but the team has not won the title even once. Played IPL finals in 2009, 2011 and 2016, but the team was defeat in the final match by Deccan Charges Hyderabad, Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad respectively.
