Japanese automaker Suzuki has introduced the new 2022 Katana (2022 Katana) motorcycle during the ongoing 78th International Motorcycle and Accessories Exhibition (EICMA). The new Katana has launched with a completely new color scheme. Along with this, it gets many new updates both in terms of engine and technology. Due to which a better overall package is expect from the bike.
Engine and power.
The new Katana will come with a new engine. It is powered by a Euro 5 standard 4-cylinder 998cc in-line engine. It has updated with a new camshaft profile, new valve springs, new clutch, new exhaust system to improve the maximum output of the engine. This engine generates maximum power of 152 hp. It will equipped with an electronically controlled throttle and will evolve into the second generation.
The electronics package includes Suzuki’s Easy Easy Start System and Low RPM Assist, which accelerates the engine speed when the clutch lever is pulled out to help control slow speeds and prevent sudden stalling of the bike.
Three riding modes.
The smooth power delivery can further controlled thanks to the Suzuki Riding Mode Selector System. It gets the Suzuki Riding Mode Selector System which is equipped with three engine maps. All three give the same power. Mode A delivers the fastest and sportiest response, Mode B delivers smoothest starting power delivery, and Mode C delivers smoothest response, best suited for wet and slippery road conditions.
New Suzuki Clutch Assist System.
The new 2022 Katata motorcycle gets a new Suzuki Clutch Assist system. In which there is a slipper clutch which reduces the effect of engine braking during downshifting from high rpm. This gives extra control and better performance in the bike.
Five traction control modes.
The two-way quick shift accelerates gear changes and improves performance on sporting tours. It gets five traction control modes to choose from to keep things under control. Traction control can also turned off.
Suspension and braking.
The new Katana gets the same lightweight double-beam aluminum frame and swingarm used on the GSX-R. It gets fully adjustable KYB front forks and an adjustable damping rear shock. It also gets Brembo monoblock calipers mated to a 310 mm front disc. Its aluminum wheels get six spokes.
The 2022 Katana will also come in new colors with crisp, angular bodywork. Finished in dark matte blue color, it comes with gold forks and wheels. While a solid iron gray option is also being offer with the red wheels.
