Manesh Mahatme has experience of working with e-commerce platform Amazon before WhatsApp. Mahatme has given his services in many important positions in Amazon.
Let us tell that India is one of the big markets of WhatsApp. WhatsApp has more than 500 million users in India. Last year itself, WhatsApp Payments was allowed to launch in India after a long wait. But WhatsApp Payment has limited to 20 million users.
Before becoming the India head of WhatsApp Payment Services, Manesh Mahatme was a senior executive at Amazon. Where he overseeing the US product and engineering team. This included the payments business of online retailers, The Indian business of Amazon Pay. Prior to Amazon, Mahatme has worked in CitiGroup and Indian telecom company Bharti Airtel.

Although the company has a big dream regarding WhatsApp payment. In such a situation, WhatsApp Payment can be expanded rapidly in India. Facebook last year announced a $5.7 billion investment in Reliance Jio Chairman Mukesh Ambani’s Jio Platforms. Which includes an agreement to accept WhatsApp payments across multiple digital platforms. WhatsApp had said in its March statement that WhatsApp Payment will facilitate Indians in digital transactions. WhatsApp plans to partner with Indian banks to provide financial services such as pension and insurance.
