WhatsApp is working on rolling out many useful features for both Android and iOS users. Here are some of the latest updates from this week.
WhatsApp continually updates its software to include a BV of features to provide secure messaging and call experience to its users. Some features are still running, while some have been rolled out as static updates for both Android and iOS users.
We have brought you some latest updates during this week:
Deleting Messages features:
Although first spotted by WABetaInfo, a blog tracking WhatsApp, earlier this month, the blog recently stated that the ‘delete message’ feature has also arrived in the iOS beta version of 184.108.40.206 and 24.
The blog confirmed that the feature would be available for group chat and only accessible to administrators. The feature, once available, will automatically delete messages after a specific period set by the user and appear as if the message never existed.
Besides, the blog stated in its publication that WhatsApp is bringing the feature as a “cleaning tool” for groups.
The blog states, “Groups usually contain a lot of messages, and this feature can help save your phone’s storage, delete old messages automatically (only administrators will be able to enable/disable it ). ”
Once available, the ‘delete message’ feature will come with a toggle on/off button, and users can choose a particular time interval for messages to disappear automatically. There are five-time interval options to choose from – 1 hour, one day, one week, one month, and one year. Accordingly, messages sent to that chat will disappear. For example, if the user opposes a time interval of 1 hour, post-selection sent messages will be deleted after one hour.
However, it is essential to know when this feature will be rolled out, and there has been no official announcement. Similarly, there is no word on the Dark Mode release date, and the feature has been under development for a long time.
Low Data Mode:
This is a recent update for iOS users. Previously, the low data usage facility was only available during WhatsApp calls, but now it has integrated this feature on the app itself. This feature will reduce the amount of network data usage of instant messaging apps.
How low data mode will work on WhatsApp:
Once you enable the way, WhatsApp will automatically shut down to download media from cellular, even if you have configured various auto-download settings. Low data mode will also prevent auto-downloading of voice messages. This is a new feature that will help users access the app for messaging purposes, even in vulnerable Internet areas.
Call Waiting Feature:
Earlier this month, WhatsApp waited for a necessary and useful call for both of its users.
The new feature complements the option where users will now be able to receive another WhatsApp call while they are already on a request. The function can be downloaded by updating the app on the App Store for iPhone users and the Google Play Store for Android customers.
Earlier, receivers did not have to wait for the call notification to arrive if they were already on another call. Instead, it will notify the user of a ‘missed call’ when they disconnect the current request. On the other hand, the caller finds out that the receiver is busy because the app flashes the message ‘on another call’ when the caller will try to make a call. Do you think about these features?
