UK: In a surprise incident, a man named Nick James in the UK found out that he had obtained a new Apple iPhone instead of some apples that he had ordered online.
He only found out when he got out of the company’s local store to collect groceries at Twickenham, where he was told that there was a ‘surprise’ in the box. James opens the box to find the iPhone SE inside.
“Apparently, we ordered the apple and randomly got an Apple iPhone! Made my son’s week!” James tweeted, stating that he also received fruit. “I was expecting half an Easter egg or something – I was a little surprised,” James told the Daily Mirror.
According to UK media reports, the whole incident was a “surprise”. This was part of a promotional campaign known as “Super Options”, where Tesco Mobile ‘clicks and collects’ members by changing their orders.
“Tesco Mobile is offering a total of 80 items at a handful of stores till 18 April. Winners are chosen at random, and you need to buy some items to be with the opportunity to get ‘subset super options’, ”explained Metro.
Tesco said in a statement, “Tesco Mobile’s ‘Super Subs’ is designed to show how amazing things can happen when supermarkets and the mobile world come together – all at once.
